The naked truth
Baring it all for POZ’s 10th anniversary
For its 10th anniversary, POZ magazine will feature
a photograph of 80 HIV-positive men and women,
who recently posed nude at Restaurant Florent in
Manhattan’s Meatpacking District.
Some people call it art, some people call it an orgy, but when you get 80 naked people lying together on the same floor, Dish calls it fabulous.
The occasion was an art installation by SPENCER TUNICK, who was
commissioned to take photos for POZ Magazine’s 10th anniversary.
Tunick has been taking photos of live nude figures in public since 1992 and
arranged his latest subjects at Restaurant Florent in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. “Baring ‘the bodies of AIDS,’ as opposed to simply showing ‘the face of AIDS,’ is a powerfully symbolic way to commemorate POZ’s 10th anniversary in the same spirit in which the magazine began,” Sean Strub, the magazine’s founder and one of the 80
models, said in a statement.
